Are there any additional fees associated with disposing of items in certain locations, such as landfills or recycling centers?

The environmental charge is a recurring charge and is usually a fixed percentage (currently 20%, subject to change) of all charges on the bill, including all charges. The facility is open every day of the year with limited hours on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The vacation schedule will be posted on the home page a week in advance. The Buyback Center and Household Hazardous Waste facilities are closed on the holidays listed below.

Recycling Buy-Back Center and Composting Sales* Placer County residents can leave HHW at no cost. Our operating permits limit us to accepting no more than 15 gallons or 125 pounds per trip. Companies that generate small amounts of hazardous waste (CESQG) can deliver materials for a fee. Most residential and commercial customers, including those with trailers that don't unload, are charged per cubic yard on public scales.

Larger commercial customers and customers with trailers or dump trucks are charged per ton on commercial scales. The WPWMA accepts cash, checks, Visa, Master Card, and Discover. We do not accept American Express cards. Customers must receive payment for each load at the time of disposal.
